Peter Lackwit was hobbling about. Had a "secret" he was wanting to share. Found an abandoned "spooky" structure in the woods and twisted an ankle. Wants us to go back with him.

Petyr Lackwit told Finn, Lukas, Heinrich and Bruce that he found a handful of silver coins near a ruined complex about 3-4 hours from Outhgill.

The party went to investigate and easily found the entrance to the underground complex using Lackwit's description.

Finn searched the area for traps and to ensure the area was stable. Heinrich lit his lantern and they crawled under the overgrowth to descend the stairs.

At the foot of the stairs a large, hairy spider landed on Lukas' shoulder, biting him. Eventually, Bruce squashed the large creature into goo with his club.

After setting all the cobwebs alight, Bruce found 19 silver coins and a smallish skull, perhaps of a child.

Finn investigated the corners of the room while Heinrich inspected the skull. The skull was frightening, with a mishappen brow and fang-like teeth. Upon closer inspection, Heinrich found a small ruby jostling about within the skull.

Meanwhile, Finn was poking at rotting sacks in the corners of the room. The sacks appeared to contain mouldering flour, grains and corn.

The bite from the spider proved to be poisonous and the venom was spreading through Lukas. Finn poked one of the sacks a little too hard and a cloud of powder erupted around him, causing him to choke and cough.

As the party rested and took stock. Finn found it harder and harder to breath. Within ten minutes of inhaling the powder, he was clawing at his throat and turning purple. In moments he was dead at the feet of the party. All the while, Lukas' bite worsened and started to seep a green fluid. Heinrich and Bruce acted fast and put a red hot blade to the bite, hoping that it would burn away any poison and seal the wound. It appeared to work, though Lukas was significantly weakened from the ordeal. After mourning the passing of their friend, they ascended the stairs and buried Finn near the entrance. They stored his gear in a nearby cache. Bruce's shovel made short work of digging the grave and the cache and Heinrich prayed for poor Finn's soul.
